Update of bug #37655 (project octave):
Summary: Delete key causes Octave exit => MinGW: Delete key
causes Octave to exit
_______________________________________________________
Follow-up Comment #7:
Some tests:
- MinGW (MSYS) shell: <Del> doesn't end the shell, <Ctrl>-d does;
(on a blank line:)
- Octave-3.4.3_gcc4.5.2: <Ctrl>-d closes Octave, <Del> does nothing.
- Octave-3.6.2_MSVC2010 (both GUI and CLI): <Ctrl>-d closes Octave, <Del> does
nothing.
- Octave-3.6.1_gcc4.6.2: both <Del> and <Ctrl>-d close Octave;
- Octave-3.6.2_gcc4.6.2: both <Del> and <Ctrl>-d close Octave;
Starting an MSYS shell using
<Octave3.6.2_gcc4.6.2>/msys/msys.bat
gives me a shell that doesn't close on <Del>
So, apparently for the 3.6.x MinGW versions the Octave terminal should be
adapted to catch <Del>. Maybe this is an easy fix, but I wouldn't know where
to search.
BTW I'd rather mark this bug as "postponed" (= until someone finds time &
priority to fix this) than "won't fix"
Adapted title so that it is clear that only MinGW binaries are affected.
