Follow-up Comment #4, bug #39305 (project octave):

Attached a patch that should fix issue 2. and 3. reported by Mike. I have also
added a menu entry for clearing the clipboard in order to easily get accces to
the ctrl-v readline functionality.

But to be honest, I do not see any effect when using ctrl-v with an empty
clipboard after applying the patch. Since I have no experience in using the
readline interface I would be happy if someone could test this.
