Details:

A warning seems to be issued for every property/value pair.

Sample code:


text (0.5,1, '\sim', 'fontname', 'arial', 'fontsize', 16)
warning: ignoring unknown symbol: sim
warning: ignoring unknown symbol: sim
warning: ignoring unknown symbol: sim


I can vary the number of property/value pairs to increase/decrease the number
of warnings.
