Follow-up Comment #10, bug #40443 (project octave):

Are you using the newest version for the mxe build? I remember that I had a
lot of trouble concerning paths and permissions with an mxe build from the
beginning of November (around 4th or so) which have disappeared in a build
from November 11th. I am using it on in GUI mode a regular basis on different
computers and have not encountered problems.
