Follow-up Comment #13, bug #31080 (project octave): Yes I'm following but a bit short of time lately - maybe tonight or otherwise tomorrow I'll check. & I also have to (re)build 3.8.0 first. >From what I've read so far I inferred that Octave relies on subdirectory timestamps, not individual function-/script-file timestamps. Very probably -if not undoubtedly- for good reason (not hard to guess); but a drawback is this sort of issues. A workaround is to avoid root dirs.
