Follow-up Comment #3, bug #41206 (project octave):
After a while (but unpredictably) it works OK and the entire terminal has the
right background color. Often that happens after e.g.,
more off
help strread
(so that enough pages scroll by automatically)
(I have reported quite a few issues, incl. this one, maybe a year ago; but
stopped reporting because at the time the GUI was still a bit in its infancy;
I feared the GUI devs would only get frustrated by piles of bug reports.
Good thing that Felipe started combing through the GUI now that it nears
completion.)
