Thanks for proofing, trying again:

> isequal (x, y)
ans = 1
> a = cfg_exbranch ();
> x.values{1} = a;

> isequal (x, y)
ans = 1
> a.tag
ans = generic
> a.tag = "ex";
> x.values{1} = a;
> x.values{1}.tag
