Follow-up Comment #9, bug #41312 (project octave):

I know a bit more:
If I run the full set of tests I do get a failure at
the test that starts at line 420 of jit.tst

If I run this function with debug_jit on I get:

octave:12>  m = [1 2 3];
octave:13>  for i=1:1001
>    m = sin (m);
>    break;
>  endfor
jit fail: Missing overload in type inference for #9 = call  (any: sin#8)
octave:14>  assert (m == sin ([1  2 3]));
octave:15>  assert (jit_failure_count, 0);
error: ASSERT errors for:  assert (jit_failure_count,0)

  Location  |  Observed  |  Expected  |  Reason
     ()           1            0         Abs err 1 exceeds tol 0
So, this test gets the correct answer, but raises
