Follow-up Comment #9, bug #41296 (project octave):

I compiled all of the sample pieces of code in the examples directory with the
new mkoctfile.  I found a lot of out-of-date material in the documentation
which I fixed here

One major problem I found was that myfeval.c leads to a segfault.

octave:1> mex myfeval.c
octave:2> myfeval ("sin", 1)
panic: Segmentation fault -- stopping myself...

I have 2 inputs and 0 outputs
I'm going to call the function sin
attempting to save variables to 'octave-workspace'...
save to 'octave-workspace' complete
Segmentation fault

It might be some new problem with my machine because I tried it with past
versions of Octave (3.6.4, 3.4.3, 3.2.4) and I also got a segfault.
