Follow-up Comment #3, bug #43975 (project octave):

This is very odd indeed.

could you please run the following commands:

graphics_toolkit gnuplot
surf (peaks)
print -deps a.ps
drawnow ("postscript", "a1.ps", false, "a1.gp");
drawnow ("postscript", "a2.ps", true, "a2.gp");


and attach the *.ps and *.gp outputs?
