Follow-up Comment #3, bug #31761 (project octave):
@Avinoam: You're right. The problem is the hidden3d line, but I also don't
see an easy way to fix it. When the facecolor is white (opaque) the mesh
shouldn't show objects behind the mesh. This implies setting hidden3d. On
the other hand, setting that seems to screw up the edge coloring. Unless
someone is very clever and understands gnuplot well we might just have to
leave this behavior in place.
