Details:

I few days ago my Octave 3.8.1 gui and defautl editor stopped "responding to
^-key".

System:

I-Core i5
16GiB RAM
Linux Ubuntu 12.04.
32-Bit Octave.

I've tried a workaround trough ANSI Coding by
holding down

CTRL+SHIFT+U and typing "5e" (HEX CODE FOR ^).

DID NOT WORKING TOO.

All other applications and UBUNTU terminal react as usual.

So only for the moment only Octave gui and the default editor seem to be
affected.

OUTPUT OF TERMINAL

setxkbmap -print -verbose 10
Setting verbose level to 10
locale is C
Applied rules from evdev:
rules:      evdev
model:      pc105
layout:     de
Trying to build keymap using the following components:
keycodes:   evdev+aliases(qwertz)
types:      complete
compat:     complete
symbols:    pc+de+inet(evdev)
geometry:   pc(pc105)
xkb_keymap {
        xkb_keycodes  { include "evdev+aliases(qwertz)" };
        xkb_types     { include "complete"      };
        xkb_compat    { include "complete"      };
        xkb_symbols   { include "pc+de+inet(evdev)"     };
        xkb_geometry  { include "pc(pc105)"     };
};

I'm using a german keyboard layout.
