Follow-up Comment #45, bug #44186 (project octave): "Perhaps just defining gp_fmode_binary_suffix differently for mingw?" That would have been my thought. If defining __MINGW32__ to 1 doesn't fix ghostscript. Perhaps creating a file gp_mingw.c that tweaks settings in gp_unifn.c and then patching the Makefile to include gp_mingw.$(OBJ) instead is better?
