Update of bug #41112 (project octave):

             Open/Closed:                    Open => Closed                 


Follow-up Comment #5:

The new symbolic package appears to implement correctly-named functions for
symbolic variables:

>> > x = sym ("x");
>> cos (x)
ans = (sym) cos(x)
>> diff (cos (x))
ans = (sym) -sin(x)

Closing report as fixed. Please test the new symbolic package and comment
follow up or report a new bug if this is not fixed.
