Follow-up Comment #2:

What color is the plotted line?  Mine is white and occurs ever 8,192 pixels. 
By changing the size of the window I can get the white bars to disappear and
reappear.  So it definitely seems like a rendering issue with OpenGL.  Still,
it doesn't mean we aren't doing something incorrect in our calls.
