Follow-up Comment #35, bug #44478 (project octave): Juan Pablo, have you build Octave using LLVM? This is just a wild guess but if I read http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/m/mesa/mesa_10.3.0-0ubuntu3.dsc it looks like the libosmesa in Ubuntu 14.10 was built with llvm-3.5. There is a "classic" OSMesa and a gallium llvmpipe state tracker. Can this conflict with the nvidia driver? If you've built with llvm, can you try a "--disable-jit" built?
