Follow-up Comment #26, bug #44912 (project octave):

I tried to revert changeset bd1369a2a651 only (using hg diff --reverse) and,
without it, Ctrl-C works when used for copy but still doesn't work as an
interception.

So there might be two different issues, one related to bd1369a2a651 (for copy)
and one elsewhere (for cancel). It seems that patch from comment #17 should
anyway be applied as it fixes the cancel issue for most (but me).
