If I configure with ./configure --prefix=$HOME/.local Then when I run `make' I end up with this error creating .DOCSTRINGS from .cc source files /bin/sh: .DOCSTRINGS: Permission denied make[3]: *** [.DOCSTRINGS] Error 1 Using the --disable-docs flag ./configure --prefix=$HOME/.local --disable-docs `make' runs just fine. Also, if I just use the defaule configuration ./configure `make' also works fine.
