Follow-up Comment #4, bug #45406 (project octave):

Hello

I did an uninstall of all versions of netcdf (there was an older version, but
it seems to have had no effect on the current problem). And uninstalled hdf5.
 Then I reinstalled netcdf and hdf5.

I then checked and there is only one nc-config.
The link in /usr/local/bin points to this...
/usr/local/Cellar/netcdf/4.3.3.1/bin/nc-config

The output from nc-config --all (below) was unchanged from before I did the
above re-installs. It does not point to the hdf5 in the Cellar. The output
follows

This netCDF 4.3.3.1 has been built with the following features:

  --cc        -> clang
  --cflags    ->  -I/usr/local/Cellar/netcdf/4.3.3.1/include
  --libs      -> -L/usr/local/Cellar/netcdf/4.3.3.1/lib -lnetcdf

  --has-c++   -> no
  --cxx       ->
  --has-c++4  -> yes
  --cxx4      -> clang++

-L/usr/local/Cellar/netcdf/4.3.3.1/lib -lnetcdf -lnetcdf
