Details:

If you lanuch octave, click in the command window and hold down CTRL C, then
after about 5 seconds it crashes.

It may seem a perverse thing to do, but often when you want to interrupt a
running program you press CTRL C  - perhaps a bunch of times depending on the
mood of the user ;) Octave isn't typically very stable w.r.t. this action.

With the GUI, everything just disappears. On the command line you get some
output:


$ octave --no-gui --quiet
