[Octave-bug-tracker] [bug #46099] image package: edge(I, 'canny') gives very bad quality results

Follow-up Comment #1, bug #46099 (project octave):

I have finally found the source of this bug!

I will attach a PATCH to fully solve this issue, as well as the result of
image('canny') when using this patch
("Octave+OrientationPatch_result_canny.png"). Now the contour is properly
closed :)

With this patch the results of edge('canny') will be different from the
versions before. But the results from the old version were mostly unusable,
anyways.

Please test this patch and let me know any feedback. Otherwise I would be
happy to see this fix in the next bug fixing release of the image package :)
