Follow-up Comment #10, bug #46330 (project octave):
I think this is related to bug #45577.
The attached patch works around the problem on my Ubuntu system, and a related
problem with inv (i*Inf*e - a).
The solution for inv returns a zero, when it may perhaps be possible that
some elements are non-zero but anorm is still infinite -- I don't understand
the algorithm or LAPACK well enough to tell.
I hope the patch is a pointer to someone more knowledgeable who can fix it
properly.
