Follow-up Comment #25:

I can no longer reproduce this using the default branch with tip
20787:62564952e161.  I think there have been enough changes, including
Pantxo's addition of a small delay in order for the graphics subsystem to get
a lock, that this may have been resolved.  In any case, even without knowing
the exact resolving changeset I'm closing this report.
