URL: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?46790> Summary: Add Keywords entry to the desktop file Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: rlaboiss Submitted on: Sat 02 Jan 2016 02:28:47 AM GMT Category: None Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: Feature Request Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: dev Operating System: Any _______________________________________________________ Details: The Desktop Entry Specification <http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop-entry-spec/latest/ar01s05.html> defines a Keywords entry for the desktop file, which is meant to facilitate searching through entries. The Gnome project has a specific goal <https://wiki.gnome.org/Initiatives/GnomeGoals/DesktopFileKeywords> for adding keywords to application desktop files. Moreover, the Debian checker Lintian is now complaining <https://lintian.debian.org/tags/desktop-entry-lacks-keywords-entry.html> that the octave.desktop file is lacking the Keywords entry [3]. I am attaching to this bug report a changeset that adds a couple of useful keywords to the Octave desktop file. This makes gnome-shell search more pleasant and useful. _______________________________________________________ File Attachments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Sat 02 Jan 2016 02:28:48 AM GMT Name: add-keywords-desktop.diff Size: 696B By: rlaboiss <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/download.php?file_id=35902> _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?46790> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/
