Follow-up Comment #7, bug #47527 (project octave): This behavior is still present in the (mxe-)Octave release 4.0.3 for Windows. And this behavior is not only a cosmetic issue. Anyone who uses Octave seriously under Windows OS will eventually try to create a launcher in the taskbar. This seems like the normal "Windows user behavior" to me. There might be ways to work around this issue successfully (I haven't tried the proposed workaround from comment #6 yet). But there are also many ways to work around this, that can have serious side effects.
