Follow-up Comment #2:

Ups. I misread your bug report.  Your issue really is that the figure is all
red.  I'm guessing you are using gnuplot.  I can reproduce it.

In the mean time, this should work correctly for you if you set
graphics_toolkit to qt or fltk.
