Follow-up Comment #18, bug #42561 (project octave):
OK, I follow the logic on that: a marker alpha times wider looks alpha^2 times
as massive.
Out of curiosity, what about scatter3() in 3D? Conceptually, a marker could
have volume meaning cube-root is in order, but of course the marker itself is
a 2D object in a 3D world, and it is always facing the viewer.
