The rest of the test suite runs to completion if I delete

The crash seems to be coming from tests involving eval or evalc, for example:

$ MALLOC_PERTURB_=1 ./run-octave -cli --eval "evalc (\"error ()\");"
error: Invalid call to error.  Correct usage is:

 -- error (TEMPLATE, ...)
 -- error (ID, TEMPLATE, ...)
