Follow-up Comment #1, bug #49235 (project octave):
I had lots of problem with intel MKL (and AMD's ACML) in the past. Once
GotoBLAS/OpenBLAS had came along i decided that
I could get a comparable performance and did not bother with
those any more...
Could you
1) LD_PRELOAD reference blas and repeat the test
2) If you have a gcc compiled octave, could you LD_PRELOAD
intel libraries and repeat the test?
