Update of bug #50851 (project octave):
Category: None => Plotting
Status: None => Wont Fix
_______________________________________________________
Follow-up Comment #1:
The documentation for plot says that the line spec for a square object is 's'.
It doesn't make reference to 'sq' nor 'square'. They may be accepting that,
but trying to follow all of Matlab's undocumented behavior is hopeless.
Octave tries only for the documented behavior.
Similarly, the ColorSpec portion of a LineSpec is only documented to be a
single character. The "Color" property itself accepts a long form like "red",
but the LineSpec is not documented to do so.
See http://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/plot.html#inputarg_LineSpec.
I'm marking this as Won't Fix since I believe Octave is compatible with all
documented behavior.
