Follow-up Comment #55, bug #51203 (project octave):

InfoZIP is the default zip and unzip programs on all GNU systems, so these
should be the exact same versions (3.0 and 6.0 respectively) that are on every
GNU/Linux system out there, and are provided to mxe-octave via msys standard

I think trying to get Octave core to use something other than the default zip
and unzip programs to deal with zip format archives is kind of a hard sell.

The "while-strcmp-cd" loops in this patch look very suspect to me, there
should be no situation where the pwd does not equal the directory that was
just cd'd to. Are these loops actually necessary? Do we need to fix cd /

The rest of the patch I guess has to do with zipping and unzipping to a
temporary file and then moving the result over the real destination file

Are there bug reports about why the pack and unpack functions are not good
enough to do what is needed here?
