Follow-up Comment #4, bug #51512 (project octave):

Philip,

I did not expect that "regexp" would be faster on long inputs than a call to
"cellfun" with rather simple functions. But preliminary test indicate that
"regexp" is impressively fast.
I will prepare an adapted changeset and try to upload it maybe early next week
together with some benchmark results if possible.
