Follow-up Comment #1:

Thanks for your bug report. I can confirm this with comments in the code that
the quality parameter is not yet being used for anything.

In the meantime, I have made a small change to the option handling and error
reporting:

Now, if the Quality option is given, it will print a non-fatal warning that it
is not yet implemented, and the file will be written anyway. Options that are
truly not documented or not recognized will result in an error message like
before. That takes care of the "unexpected error" part of this bug report.
