Follow-up Comment #18, bug #51830 (project octave):

When you said you always get localhost in the CLI, is that with both of
Octave's gethostname and uname functions?

I don't see a gethostname.o in my last stable-octave build log either (4.2.1
vs 4.2.1). We did update gnulib between 4.2.0 and 4.2.1, but I don't see any
changes in gnulib that stand out having to do with gethostname or unistd.
