Follow-up Comment #21, bug #41305 (project octave):
-14 in XYeupd is "did not find any eigenvalues to sufficient accuracy". It is
just non-convergence with the given parameters. The error message comes from
eigs-base.cc, so it can be modified. I do not think (anymore) it is a bug in
arpack, but rather a possible defect in the "implicitely restarted Arnoldi
method". We could change the error message to something like: "It was not
possibile to find any eigenvalues to sufficient accuracy. Try to increase the
tolerance, the maximum number of iterations, or the number of requested
eigenvalues".
