Follow-up Comment #6, bug #52693 (project octave):

gnuplot has a MOUSE_X, MOUSE_Y variable for reporting mouse position, and
there does appear to be use of these variables in the script file
__gnuplot_ginput__.m.

However, I can't seem to get any ginput() to work in the recent development
code, regardless of toolkit.  So, it is difficult for me to investigate.
