Follow-up Comment #11, bug #52919 (project octave):

Just adding, I think it's also important for max, min, sort, as well as eq,
ge, gt, le, and lt to all be consistent. So that if someone writes their own
simple bubble sort function using only lt, the results would be the same as
the built in sort function. This is not true in Matlab.
