Follow-up Comment #10:

Thanks to some compatibility tests, pytave's numel will be changing, so this
won't be a problem. So I'm in favor of applying this to stable for the
upcoming point release. I'll wait a little while to see if anyone has any more
tests or objections before pushing it, but it will be great to have this long
standing bug fixed. Thanks for the work Sébastien!
