Follow-up Comment #52, bug #54078 (project octave):
I here what you are saying. I too went back through the changesets to see if
that setting had changed in recent months, but it seems it didn't. Parent
zero or nonzero, window flag set or not set, a few other settings--that's what
I meant by nuanced. I suspect years ago those who managed to get the
decorations to appear were just happy enough to achieve that at that point.
