Follow-up Comment #7, bug #54241 (project octave):
You have broken the contract of the function. That Octave doesn't check for
whether the table is sorted or not is irrelevant. It doesn't check for an
error, fine. But you are calling the function incorrectly. Any call to lookup
with a table argument that is not sorted in ascending order is invalid.
