Follow-up Comment #17, bug #36133 (project octave): I already changed the default precision that Octave saves data files for exactly this reason. See changeset: 23556:31b1ef1ee585 user: Rik <address@hidden> date: Wed Jun 07 12:29:23 2017 -0700 summary: Fix Octave's -text format for saving data to make it lossless for IEEE-754 doubles.
