[Octave-bug-tracker] [bug #54310] Synchronize file encoding used in edit

From: Torsten
Subject: [Octave-bug-tracker] [bug #54310] Synchronize file encoding used in editor with the one used for executing m files

Follow-up Comment #2, bug #54310 (project octave):

I have pushed changeset
http://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/ba8227df92ae
which implements the synchronization from __mfile_encodings__ into the gui
settings using the new __octave_link_gui_preference__ function. A problem was
that the codec names do not completely match in the two environments.

I was not completely sure whether to call __octave_link_gui_preference__ in
input_sys::mfile_encoding or directly in __mfilter_encoding__. I have chosen
the first option.
