Follow-up Comment #8, bug #49736 (project octave):
This still happens with the current stable branch on my Ubuntu 18.04. Both cli
und gui versions are affected ("error: no such file"), in addition gui is
crashing with signal 5 when initiating an action that would open a file
dialog.
