The file sparsersb.oct file generated by the sparsersb package should include
the debugging symbols. It should be up to the user or to the maintainer of the
distribution where the package will be included to strip those symbols.

This is the case, for instance, in the Debian distribution.  The regular
Debian package octave-sparsersb includes the stripped version of the
sparsersb.oct file, while the octave-sparsersb-dgbsym package includes the non
stripped version.

The patch attached to this bug report, which essentially adds the "-g" option
to mkoctfile, fixes the problem.
