Follow-up Comment #17, bug #55584 (project octave):

Torsten's answer in comment #15 indicates that at the Octave side there's
nothing we can do.
What you can do is reboot w/o dongle attached and let's hope the problem at
hand is fixed then.

So I suggest to close this bug report, status to be determined but possibly
"Works for me" (as it does for me).
