Follow-up Comment #1:
First, 4.2.2 is deprecated and no longer supported. You should upgrade as
soon as possible for a better experience.
Second, "axescheck" is not a documented Matlab function. See
https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/referencelist.html?type=function&s_cid=doc_ftr&listtype=alpha.
It is an undocumented function, but those are internal and can change from
release to release and should never be relied upon.
The best thing to do would be to re-code things so that it does not depend on
axescheck. In that way it will work in both Matlab going in to the future and
with Octave now.
