Follow-up Comment #23, bug #55823 (project octave): Mike, our posts crossed. See my comment #4 for an example of an unsaved (modified) tab exactly using Joel's example files. BTW that the OCT interface is required is because that unzips and zips back the spreadsheet files and then wipes the unzipped archive using code somewhere in the io scripts.
