Follow-up Comment #16, bug #55855 (project octave): This works well for me. Is there a reason you changed the check so that it does copy old settings if XDG_CONFIG_HOME is set? I thought your explanation in comment #12 made sense at the time. Now if I run with XDG_CONFIG_HOME set to an empty directory, the welcome wizard does not show and the settings from my ~/.config/qt-settings file are copied over.
