Details:

when editing an already syntactically balanced keyword/end pair
(function/endfunction, etc), by inserting newlines after the keyword, the auto
insert function is adding inappropriate 'end*' lines that have to be manually
removed.  detect whether there is already a balanced matching end so you can
suppress the auto insert.
