Follow-up Comment #13, bug #55161 (project octave):
Torsten, I am able to test your patch. At my work we also "use" GSuite, but I
do not use GDrive under Linux. I managed to reproduce the issue on a separate
Windows machine, pretty weird and annoying, I agree.
Can you make your patch available for the stable branch? From Octave stable I
sometimes build the MXE installer for testing on that separate Windows
machine.
But please be patient with the result.
